Search for Current or Previously Funded Grants
You may review funded awards by federal agency to see which federal offices, institutes, or directorates have funded grants in your particular area of interest. You may search federal awards through the following websites:
- Department of Education Grant and Contract Awards
- National Institutes of Health
- National Science Foundation
- Pivot - Search for funded research from selected agencies: NIH, NSF, USDA, SBIR, MRC in the UK (available to uiowa.edu-baed computers only).
Private foundation websites sometimes provide information on previously funded awards and must provide such information on the annual IRS Form 990 PF they're required to file each year. The 990 PF is a public record and available through a number of websites. You may search for private foundation IRS Form 990 PFs through the following websites:
- Chronicle of Philanthropy Guide to Grants - Available online with a user name and password in the Resource Information Center in 100 Gilmore Hall.
- Foundation Center: 990 PF Search
- Foundation Center: Foundation Finder
- GuideStar: the National Database of Private Organizations
- Foundation Directory Online Platinum - The Foundation Center's database of U.S. foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities along with their associated grants; available online with a user name and password in the Resource Information Center in 100 Gilmore Hall.
