Role
The Division of Sponsored Programs (DSP) greatly values our Departmental Research Administrator contacts and depends upon their extensive expertise. The administrative contact actively serves as a departmental consultant, resource, and authority on policies, processes, and transactions related to sponsored programs, receiving support and guidance from DSP staff.
Responsibilities
Liaison between Central Administration and Organizational Unit
- Serve as an active communication liaison between DSP and members of the unit. Communicate updates, policies, procedures, processes and Research Administrator Meeting (RAM) information to constituent group on a timely basis.
- Provide oversight and direction to constituents regarding research support activities including the appropriateness of expenditures, sponsor guidelines, contract or grant application requirements, post-award project administration and changes in policies and procedures.
- Contribute ideas by providing feedback to DSP personnel and suggesting topics for the Research Administrators Meeting (RAMs).
Professional Development and Growth
- Develop effective knowledge of key UI processes (Internal Routing, UIRIS, Advance Accounts, Award Initiation, Extensions) in order to provide ongoing advice and guidance to constituent group.
